PRISM has finally cracked the code on devulcanization without destroying the critical sulfidic bridge.  PRISM™  is  creating a material that can be used in manufacturing of engineered rubber products, most importantly the production of new tires in percentages the industry has deemed a priority sustainability goal. 

 

Our process means that significant amounts of recycled tire rubber can be used or reused for new tire production. And, when a new tire made with PTR™ is ready to be recycled, that same rubber becomes even stronger going back through the PRISM™ process – creating a sustainable tire manufacturing system that will reduce the need for natural rubbers, synthetic rubbers and chemical-based additives.

REINVENTED RECYCLING

We can now take a used tire produced with up to 75% recycled PTR™ and recycle it once again — multiple times again. With the PRISM™ process, the sulfidic bridge is unlinked and available to be re-crosslinked. PTR™ material will actually get stronger each time we recycle a tire.

There are 1.3 billion used tires (and growing) generated EVERY YEAR globally. PRISM™ addresses that problem head on by recycling 100% of the rubber eliminating the need to dispose of those tires, and put them back into productive use.

PTR™ retains all of the carbon black from the vulcanization process allowing the industry to eliminate the environmentally toxic process of developing new carbon black. It reduces 60% of the crude oil needed for new tire production and significantly decreases the amount of energy needed for production.
